Pav bhaj is one of the most popular Mumbai style street food. A delicious and wholesome mix of assorted veggies like potatoes, tomatoes, cauliflower, green peas and capsicum is prepared with plenty of onions, ginger and garlic mashed straight on a griddle and flavoured with strong spice mix like garam masala or pav bhaji masala.
This spicy vegetarian dish is served with an Indian bread called pav which tastes better when toasted along with a spoonful of butter. This Mumbaiya dish is a hit all across the Country and everyone loves the easy, filling and relatively healthy food.
It can be served as a complete meal or a snack item and is surely one of the best ways to feed your kids plenty of veggies
Today I have served it with some interesting twist..Pav bhaji bites in shot glasses. This makes a very interesting party serving food item and you can serve it as a finger food rather than in plates. Serve these pav bhaji bites with garlic chutney and toasted paav on top for an awesome evening tea time snack. You could easily serve it for the upcoming Thanksgiving celebrations.
This recipe is a quick version of Pav bhaji and you can see the authentic Mumbai style Paav bhaji here. It is a vegan recipe.
